Going off to a wedding this weekend so won't be around. Not that most people will notice that anyway.

I got my pay two days ago, but since I have to pay sales tax + regular tax out of it - the last one twice because I likely won't get any money this month - leaves very little. Very, very little. So I've been moaning and complaining and in the end the Boyfriend said that it was a good thing I'd won 2000,- dKr then. I laughed because that was a sweet but silly thing to say, referring back to when we were still talking about going on a trip this summer. He'd offered to pay and had kept talking about the trip and the money as if it was a prize.

But he meant it.

So, I got treated to flowers and a card and money.

Which means that I have now new shoes for the wedding. They're comfortable and sensible and slightly golden-hued. They are also shoes my mother would like. I am trying to ignore that. I also bought gunk for my hair, so I now have something resembling curls instead of just limp frizz.

As for work [insert scornful laugh here] I have to show all of next week, except Monday. We're having external consultants to set up the system for us and I have been asked to keep an eye on them and help them with the business logic, since my boss is away. He said he felt confident in my ability to make the necessary decisions. I didn't say that I felt I shpould get paid more - but did I ever think it?!

*grrrrrrrs*

Also, the last thing I said to the Boss was, "Boss, remember to download the iFi
olters I found the links for. They will need them."

Ha!

At least he doesn't expect me to download and pay for them. No way am I handling the org's credit cards.

I have to do some work-stuff as well so it's okay, and at least the consultants are not showing till Tuesday and not till nine so I'll live.

The aforementioned wedding is in Jylland/Jutland, so it's a three hour drive. That is a lot for people who, like me, are used to having everything within shouting distance. More or less. We're sharing a rented car with three others, so it is a very good thing that it has cooled down a bit. I've bought wool for socks and have a sweater in the making as well. But socks are good as portable projects since they're small. They also require the use of 5 double-pointed needles which are great for impressing and/or threatening people. I intend to bring a book and my mp3 player as well, hoping for that there will be a certain understanding of the fact that we do not need to talk and be social for the entire trip.

You have my very, very fondest hope for that understanding.*cringes*

There weren't any. Sadly. I brought along knitting as well and that half sock did save me from some of the social interaction.
